The Joker is definitely going to be this Halloween's hottest costume. Aside from me being an hombre, holmes. Anyways, onto what's good for this weekend:

  • This is why I don't update my facebook status, that is, of course I'm putting funny T-Pain lyrics up. Totally sucks for this guy, but I guess he deserves it for being a complete d-bag.
  • 'You Can Vote However You Like' - this is like the best parody song I've heard since 'White and Nerdy', but then again, I hate parody songs. But this is just too much! The kids are enjoying themselves a bunch too, I remember every time I was forced to do something dumb like this in elementary school I'd fake being sick. Put the thermometre under the lamp. Respexx to my boy JClav for the link, hooked me up when there were like 8,000 views but I slacked all week on it.
  • Speaking of too much, this Gene Simmons Guitar Hero/Rock Band axe... just too much. Not too mention the fact that Gene Simmons is a bassist!!
  • Michael Jackson's 'Beat It' in GH World Tour looks like a bunch of fun! Didn't know the guitar solo was by Van Halen, hence the difficulty.
  • Lastly, RJD2's "Work it Out" video is just straight awesome-ness. And yeah, I'm aware I'm really late. The video is shot is shot in a single take, and surprisingly no one walked in front of the shot/made stupid faces in the background. If I was there I would have. Actually, I wouldn't, because I'm a big wuss, hence the blog, lol.
It's that time of year, Halloween, when kids dress up like ghosts and monsters and girls dress up like skanks. The time of year when we get the crappy 'Treehouse of Horror' The Simpsons episodes. I've never been much of a Halloween guy, in fact I stopped trick or treatin' when I was in grade 5. Probably had to do more with fear of getting jumped than fear of monsters. But aside from mooching off of Smarties and those pumpkin gum balls, Halloween is always the time when people can show off their carving prowess. Awesome Jack 'o Lanterns are only a google search away. Here are just a few of the ones I was able to find in like a good five minutes worth:

So go check it out for yourselves. And just for old time St. Gabriel sake, the Monster Mash!
I spent much of my childhood trying to find this dude. When everyone was reading graphic novels and stuff in Grade 6, I was still on Where's Waldo, and Berenstain Bears. Looking back, I swear there was no intellectual gain when reading Where's Waldo... shit, I didn't even READ Where's Waldo! When will you ever have to look for a white dude in a red & white sweater with a matching toque? Especially coming from Scarborough? Well.....

Now you can look for a him! Improv In Toronto (Frozen Eaton's Centre) is starting a "Real Life Where's Waldo" over at the Eaton's Centre on November 8. Your aim is to find the real Waldo, with the help of his look-a-like friends. Last time I checked, the whole Waldo look was in, in the Hipster community. The specs, the Clarks boots (Keon Cam, wuddup!), the skinny jeans, the toque with the messy hair... you get me...

Side Notes:
  • Be on the lookout for The Attic Society stickers all over the place (we're hittin' the streets Guerilla style, yo. Shoutouts to Wonton)
  • Our token black dude, Keon Cam, will be gracing the blog with his presence once again (his internet is back too) with an MTV Cribs: Keon Cam.
Don't wait. Anticipate.

When I saw this ad for the new Guitar Hero World Tour game I just knew I had to repost it. I felt a little guilty given its already on Hypebeast and Kanye's blog, but anytime the combined star power of Kobe Bryant, Tony Hawk, A-Rod, and man of the year - Michael Phelps, comes together it's always a must see.

I don't think we've seen a more solid line up since Michael Jackson got everyone from my man, Bruce Springsteen to Steve Perry, for 'We Are The World'.

It's funny though, given the all-star (and ridiculously expensive) cast, I haven't seen this on the tube yet. Then again, I haven't sat down and watched TV for weeks.

[edit: call me homophobic, but I hope Keon Cam posts something new quick, I just feel real uncomfortable with having three guys in boxers and a pink shirt up on the front page!)
(Kanye West, on lookbook.nu)

As you may or may not know, my main man, Kanye West is dropping his fourth album (fifth, if you count my personal pre-College Dropout Kanye mixtape), 808s & Heartbreak on November 25th. Creeping up fast. And lately, the three released tracks are all I've been listening to. Well, Love Lockdown, not so much. I'm sure everyone has heard them, and this is a waste of a blog post, but I'll post 'em anyway:

Love Lockdown
Heartless
Coldest Winter

[edit: looks like there's a fourth leaked track, "Robocop"]

As for the rest of your weekend web-surfing, here's some Weekend Quick Hits:

  • Asher Roth's 'I Love College', yet another song to add to the iPod collection. Props for the 'Say it Ain't So' sample. Also, check him out on the cover of XXL sticking out like a sore thumb along side swag-lacker, Wale.
  • Guitar Hero World Tour comes out this Sunday, with even some midnight store releases for all the fiends. Hit IGN for a complete preview, and Wikipedia for the complete set list. Can't wait to flex my vocal skills on 'Beat It', oh man!
  • Speaking of video games, Fable 2 is absolutely addicting. If you don't see me in the streets (or posting), you know why.
  • UFC 90 - Silva vs. Cote goes down this Saturday - If I were Patrick Cote I would invest my fight money in a tombstone.
  • Lastly, with Halloween coming up here's a valuable life lesson. Well, I won't say it. I'll let the following videos speak for themselves. Part 1. Part 2.
Where the hell's Keon Cam on this thing?
I thought this thing was fuckin hilarious. This was listed on the "Most Viewed" page on YouTube a while back (yes. I did not search "breasts", asshole) and it just hit me how funny it was recently.

2 Boy Scouts were asked to do some community involvement. What better way to give back to the community than some breast examinations?
I know... somethings wrong here. The Onion News Network is a YT account that post fake news reports such as the first openly gay race horse, and the new scientifically created Disney Stars. When I first saw this Breast Examination video, I wasn't paying any attention to the text at the bottom (reading the sub-headings is a must) which lead me to believe what I was watching was real. Yeah... I'm stupid.

The guys at The Attic Society and I will have our own Breast Examination booth over at Eaton's Centre tomorrow @ 5pm outside of La Senza (for obvious reasons). Be there, or be square diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Finally we've got this thing rolling, the attic boys/kidz/society are officially in business. And finally, I can get back to what I'm used to: sharing random (yet worthwhile) garbage off of the interwebs.

Anyway, today I came across this pretty awesome blog, Little People (insert self-deprecating joke here). Which by the way, has nothing to do with "fashion, music, or Toronto". And I hope that's okay, because I really hope our readership isn't all hipsters. The blog chronicles this "street art project" where mini figurines are uniquely placed all along the London area. The figures are usually placed in some pretty odd locations, and are generally pretty funny. The sets are so small you'd most likely miss it, which sucks, because they're pretty snazzy.

Now I'm not usually one for "art", but it looks pretty cool, anyway. There's even a coffee table book with a collection of all of the pictures. Though, I'd have to refer to something GarbageJ told me once, "Books are just something you read, then you keep later to look intelligent", yeah, that's pretty much all it is. That said, nothing wrong with trying to look like a scholar.

Check it out.
So there were a load of videos (theres still some I haven't uploaded) that we made while at Nuit Blanche in the time span of 3am to 10:30am. Random shit. I figured I'd post the last 3. The first one is kind of a follow-up to the "Blog Life" vid we made before (refer to last post).

A new view.

So... I indirectly left Blogspot. I know, I know, no need to tear up now! Garbage J. is back with a new project involving the not-so-infamous-but-still-kinda-infamous Keon Cam & The Springsteen. This MEGA-blog is set to cream pants, and help find new perspectives on topics such as fashion and music, yet still give you the run-down on whats good in the Toronto area.

How It All Began: It was only yesterday (literally it was something like yesterday) that the 3 of us were crammed in Springsteen's head office over in the P-Town area, planning a takeover, along with t-shirts and photoshoots. We realized we all had the same aspirations as young bloggers... money, bitches, and bling... Okay I'm kidding. But bling? Who doesn't want bling?

Realizing we were all lacking fresh and funky material to keep up with our nonesense-hungry readers, we decided to take our idea into action and put our 3 minds together (kinda like a 3-headed monster, cuz those things are dope. Like the ones that steal the princesses and shit) to create 1 internet phenomenon we like to call, The Attic Society. Mind you, it took forever to come up with a name. Possibly over 11hrs in total. Here were some of the possibilities:
  1. therawmaterial.blogspot.com

  2. packagedgoods.blogspot.com

  3. yourgirlfriendsfavouriteblog.blogspot.com
  4. casualfridays.blogspot.com
  5. blackmonday.blogspot.com
The First Mention of The Attic Society (Taken: Sep. 28, 2008)

Why The Attic Society?: Because, bitch. We're on the top like an attic! At least we aspire to be. Being that the 3 of us are from different walks of life (although all roads begin in the Malvern area, wuddup) and we know different people, we felt it would be awesome to make a blog that all Nerds & Hypebeasts & Hipsters & overall, just cool kids, could respect. This blog was meant to make aware that anyone/everyone who hopes to one day be as dope as us 3, can be. Just don't jock us. Cuz that would be beef. LMAO! Kidding. It's too early to joke about arrogance.

So here we are. Ground Zero of something epic.
Come join the Society.
